*** NEW *** Doc's Cruises

Jul
03

Doc Manges was our Cruise Master. Doc passed away unexpectedly in May of 2015. In memory of Doc's life and accomplishments, his wife Jackie graciously allowed us to publish all of Doc's cruises from his Corvette Highways Website onto our site and for our club to continue to use his routes for our future cruises.

We will be uploading each cruise (there are about 100 of them) one at a time. We are starting 7/3/15 and expect to be done by 7/15/15 - please bear with us.

If you are interested in leading one of Doc’s cruises, please contact Steve. He will be glad to assist you in your efforts to make sure the information is current and complete.

To download and view the cruise files, you'll need Adobe Acrobat format - If you don't already have it, you'll need to download the Abobe Acrobat Reader software from Adobe here --> https://get.adobe.com/reader/ (link is external)

*** It is with sad hearts, that we honor one of our own - Doc Manges - RIP ***

May
23

Today started as a great day with perfect weather for a Cruise lead by our Cruise Master John “Doc” Manges.

Everyone’s spirits were high especially Doc’s. Unfortunately, while Doc was doing what he enjoyed most, he suffered a massive heart attack. Doc had pulled off to the side of the road with a long line of Corvettes behind him. It took a while for the message of a medical emergency to reach us. Immediately the majority of us went to his car to lend whatever help we could. It was heartening to see the number of people that stopped to lend assistance. There were army medical assistants; there were people on phones calling for help and club members helping to control traffic that had backed up in both directions. The first responder was an EMT fireman who had the equipment necessary to treat a heart attack victim; next came the Ambulance and their EMT’s. Doc was prepared for transport as quickly as possible to Clearview Hospital in Monroe GA. All of us went to the Hospital in the hopes that Doc could recover from the heart attack. It was with great sadness we learned he did not survive.
