[VIDEO] Chazcron’s C8 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette 360-Degree Render

Our friend Chazcron from the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com has been working on a 360-degree render video of the 2020 Corvette for over a month now and he finally completed it this week.

One of the really cool views is how the camera view goes up and over the car and features a top-down look at the C8 Corvette.

Chevrolet Will Not Launch the 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette at NAIAS

For well over a year the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit has been the hands-down favorite as the location to launch the C8 mid-engine Corvette. But according to this new report from GM Authority, Chevrolet has other plans.

When the website reached out to the Chevrolet car and crossover team regarding an official comment on NAIAS, they were told that “there’s nothing planned”.

Legendary Corvette restorer Kevin Mackay again finds himself in the middle of a seemingly never-ending legal battle over a historic 1960 Corvette.

The fate of the car remains in question after it made history nearly 60 years ago when it became one of the first Corvettes to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France.

In 1994 the C4 generation was growing long in the tooth. Now in its 11th model year, the Corvette team needed new ways to keep the car interesting until the C5 would arrive in a few years. With that in mind, Admiral Blue and Copper Metallic joined the Corvette color palette. Admiral Blue would go on to become one of the all-time favorite Corvette blues, but Copper Metallic wasn’t so fortunate.

Did GM Design and Patent a New GT Emblem for the C8 Corvette?

Thanks so much for our friend and contributor Jeremy Welborn who spotted this new patent for a GT Emblem design by General Motors. Could this GT emblem be coming for the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette?

If you read that epic post on the Corvette Forum by a user named unlimitedPower who discussed GM’s Bold Plan for the C8 Corvette, you know that one of his predictions was that in 2021 Chevrolet would reveal two variants of the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette, a Grand Sport model that would take the Z06’s place in the hierarchy of Corvette Performance, and a Grand Tour model that is described as a luxury touring sports car.

Patent Application Details the C8 Corvette’s Engine Compartment Cooling Vents

We have seen from the spy shots of the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette at the Nurburgring earlier this year that showed the coupe version with a rear hatch that will most likely contain a window for viewing the engine compartment.

It seems that rear window will have a dual purpose based on this new GM patent application that was unearthed over at Road and Track.

It occurred to me this morning after watching this presentation of the 2019 Corvette ZR1 at the LA Auto Show that it was one year ago today that I flew to LA for a one-day stay to see the new Corvette for the first time. The trip, dubbed BONZAI Run to the ZR1 was definitely an experience to remember as about 30 Corvette enthusiasts from all parts of the USA and Canada met for a day of ZR1 fun at the auto show.
