Since it debuted in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette has been carving out a place for itself in the highly competitive sports car market. This process was slow at first and had to endure some hiccups along the way but America’s Sports Car has become a staple of the industry and, in North America, it could easily be argued that the ‘Vette is THE most important player in the game of modern sports car manufacturing.

General Motors Sells 3,491 Corvettes During 4th Quarter 2019

General Motors released its Sales Reports for the 4th Quarter of 2019 this morning. The report is mostly positive with Chevrolet recording the sale of 3,491 Corvettes during the final three months of the year. It’s a decline of 10.7% over the 3,910 Corvettes sold during 4Q 2018.

For the calendar year of 2019, Chevrolet sold 17,988 Corvettes which was down just 4.3% over sales recorded in 2018.

I’ll say this about a seller who holds an allocation on a Black 2020 Corvette Stingray…that’s one heck of a bold price!

We’re a month out from the start of production for the 2020 Corvettes and more than a few have already popped up for sale on eBay. Not by dealers though but by buyers who are attempting to make a buck or two from flipping their allocations, orders, or their spot in line.

Corvettes on eBay: Rare GM Performance Anniversary ZL1 Crate Motor No. 46 of 200 Produced

While browsing Corvettes on eBay today I came across a rare GM Performance crate engine still in the original crate! Those building an early C3 restomod might want to take a closer look.

Back in 2002, GM Performance did a special run of 200 crate engines based on the legendary 1969 ZL1 engines that were originally built for CAN-AM racing and were also placed in just two Corvettes and 69 Camaros.

[ACCIDENT] Street Sign Impales a C7 Corvette Stingray in South Florida

Could this be a prototype for the C9 Corvette – a “mid-sign” design instead of a mid-engine?

Not really.

Actually it’s the result of a strange incident on Dec. 31 involving a C7 Corvette coupe traveling on I-95 in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The driver of the Corvette, who identified himself to news organizations only as “Malcolm,” told reporters he was traveling down the interstate on his way to a workout at his gym before then partaking in New Year’s Eve activities when he suddenly heard a noise.

Chevrolet has a new car on the show circuit that is sure to turn heads as the 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible in Accelerate Yellow made its debut this week at the San Diego International Auto Show.

Like on the Accelerate Coupe versions currently running around Bowling Green, the convertible is outfitted with yellow brake calipers.

While US-based customers will shell out $1,150 for the accessory wing, we learned that Canadian Customers can order one for $425.

Detroit Free Press Names the 2020 Corvette Stingray its Car of the Year

Saying that it “delivers on decades of promise,” the Detroit Free Press has named the 2020 Corvette Stingray as its Car of the Year, adding to an ever-growing list of honors for Chevy’s legendary and reimagined sports car.

The newspaper says that the mid-engine Corvette is the “most radical re-engineering in the car’s history” and boasts that “as 2020 dawns, the Chevrolet Corvette has reasserted itself as the pinnacle of sports car design, engineering, and value.”

The new Corvette is joined by another familiar – though long missing – name, the Ford Ranger, chosen as Truck of the Year.
