GM Denial of Z06 at the Nurburgring

Sorry I was excited by the posting of the fantastic time reported. It is too bad there is so much false stuff being published on the Internet. My Bad.

This week, we heard that the Mustang GT350R can go around the Nurburgring in 7:32.19. Today we heard that the Corvette Z06 can do the 'Ring in 6:59.13. Both times, these reports have come from a site called Horsepower Kings and both times we were skeptical. Here's the issue: Chevrolet says the time is "not accurate" and "fabricated."

Quick Summary

Wicked power. Endless grip. Fantastic brakes. Functional aerodynamics. If that were all the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 offered it would still be a winner, but it also has the same superb ride quality as the normal Corvette, which makes it a class leader by a country mile. If the new Z06 was wearing anything other than a Chevy badge, it would be twice the price.

The Viper wins the drag race, but the Z06 turns in a faster run. So the Z06 is a faster car, the Viper in this race just had a better driver.
